Kendra {& Hagan}

Kendra and I have been pals since high school…she’s one of the first friends I made when I moved to Virginia, and we quickly became best friends!  She’s such a good person and always tells it like it is….which is why I like her so much!  I could always count on her to give me the truth, even if it’s not what I want to hear.  🙂

Anyway, she mentioned wanting to get some photos with her dog, Hagan, and I was wanting to get some practice in…so we decided to make a day of it!  We both brought our dogs along and headed out to some country roads, hoping to find some abandoned buildings and empty fields.  Well…we found abandoned buildings, but turns out that two females stopping in the middle of nowhere to get pictures around those abandoned buildings is a lot scarier than expected.

But we did find this amazing wheat field!

I love these candid ones so much…I’m not sure what was so funny, but I love pictures of genuine emotions!

And then we found ourselves alllllll the way out at Chippoke’s State Park.  It was quite the road trip, but this light was so worth it!!

Bailey ended up having to stay in the car while we were out in the wheat field because she wouldn’t stay still long enough for me to take a picture…then I gave her another chance here.  As you can see, she kept deciding she wanted in the pictures too.  She’s a good road dog, but I don’t see ‘photography assistant’ in her future.

One last one!  After we took about 1,239,393 pictures with the gorgeous light, we headed down to the water at the park.  Since it’s kind of at the bottom of a big hill, the sun was blocked and it started getting chilly out.  We walked around for a little bit, then decided to make our way back home.  It was such a fun day exploring the back roads, chickening out at the abandoned buildings, and dodging poison ivy!  Luckily, we made it out without poison ivy or any bug bites and got some great pictures to remember it all!  🙂
