Back in March I had the privilege of assisting Chelsea with Bit of Ivory Photography with photographing a bridal show called Heart + Soul Wedding Event. It’s the first of it’s kind in this area, an interactive bridal event aimed at getting attendees involved and truly showcasing it’s vendors. Having been to some bridal shows myself, I can definitely attest to the fact that this is for sure a different kind of bridal show! With a limit on ticket sales and only select vendors, you have the time to mingle with each vendor and really see what they’re all about…giving you a chance to see if they’re truly going to be a good fit for your wedding day. Plus, I may be partial, but all of these vendors were quality vendors that you could count on to provide top notch services.
This event was 3 hours long, and there wasn’t a dull moment the entire time, thanks to Astro Entertainment and some fun programming along the way coordinated by the talented ladies of Sunkissed Events & Designs and Roost Flowers & Design! 🙂 One of my favorite parts of the night was a surprise proposal! Because I would be helping photograph it, I knew there was one coming, but I just didn’t know who. But it quickly became obvious when I noticed this attractive couple walking around, and I couldn’t help but notice the girl didn’t have a ring on her finger. [Side note: She wasn’t the least bit suspicious because they were actually there to see a salon that she’s connected to, and if you don’t believe that…I think her reaction is further proof that she was totally caught off guard!] I LOVED watching this unfold…
It all started with the DJ from Astro Entertainment suggesting that they play a little couple’s game. The unknowing soon to be bride was confused, but went along with it. They had some fun with the game answering questions like, “Who said I love you first?” and “Who has come the closest to being arrested?” haha
I’m not sure which question he was answering here, but he doesn’t look too proud! Perhaps it was, “Who wears the pants in this relationship?” And I believe that’s the pink card he’s holding up! 🙂
And then…he turned around and got on one knee. I seriously got teary eyed at this! She was SO surprised! It was definitely an emotional proposal, that I’m so glad they have a ton of photos to remember it by! (I’m sure she barely remembers most of it!)
