Sophisticated Couture-esque

One of the biggest things my clients worry about before their sessions are….the outfits! The days of everyone coordinating in khakis and white shirts are gone. I personally LOVE shooting portraits that showcase a person’s unique style and personality. We all see these gorgeous stylized shoots that photographers do with models to beef up their portfolio and wonder how we can recreate that look for our own photos. A part of what I’d like to include in my business is helping my clients create these stylized looks for their own sessions.  I want to inspire you to be creative, push the limits, and let YOU show through your photos. We as photographers do this everyday, we’re brainstorming the next big shoot that’s going to be unique enough to get featured in the most popular blogs and magazines, we know what works and what doesn’t in photos…yet few of us offer these concepts to our clients.

I want to change that. So, this is me introducing a new series on to my blog, “Simply Styled.”  A series to inspire you. If you see something you like, let me know, and together we’ll make it happen! Have an idea of your own?  Let me know…I’ll help you put together something that’s uniquely YOU.

Finally, here’s the first of many ‘Simply Styled’ inspiration boards….’Sophisticated Couture-esque”  I’m starting out with this one, because this will actually be coming to fruition very soon with a client of mine…and I CAN’T wait! It’s going to be gorgeous!  A little bit of sophistication with a touch of a high fashion. Tulle skirts make a BIG impact, and while they’re not necessarily something you’d wear everyday, they make for a great outfit for a photoshoot! These skirts are soft and flowy, can be used in a variety of ways, and are so easy and inexpensive to make. While I won’t be able to provide wardrobes for my shoots, you can count on a corset and tulle skirt being available to all of my clients….just in case you want to give this look a try! 🙂
