This weekend I traveled up to DC for Amanda and Spencer’s engagement session! Other than being a little chilly, it was a beautiful, sunny day…perfect for a winter engagement session!
We met at Amanda and Spencer’s home while Amanda got her hair and makeup done by Kara with Best Face Forward, where I got to meet their not-so-little baby of a dog, Bones. He really is the biggest baby…as Amanda got her hair and makeup done, Bones laid back in Spencer’s lap, literally like you’d hold a baby. Once you see Bones…you’ll understand why this is really funny. 🙂 It was so nice using that time to get to know Amanda and Spencer and to hear all about their wedding plans! It’s going to be a beautiful wedding, I can’t wait! Once Amanda was done getting ready, we headed out to the Union Market. It was my first time there, and I definitely want to go back! It was full of vendors selling fresh veggies, beer, wine, and cheese….I can see why it’s so popular, which explains why it was so crowded when we arrived…but we made it work! Getting comfortable in front of the camera can take a little time, not to mention having crowds around you….but they were naturals! We had to work quick with the breaks in crowds and they were awesome!
After the Union Market, we headed over to the Capitol Hill area, then the National Mall with Bones and continued the session…and as you’ll see, the light was absolute perfectionnn and Amanda and Spencer just kept on being adorable. I loved going around DC with them and photographing them! They were such naturals, and even trusted me enough to hop out in the middle of the street during the breaks in traffic for a few quick photos. We may have been honked at…but it was totally worth it!
I just can’t wait for their July wedding at the Brittland Estates! I’m thrilled to be shooting there again and excited to see these two tie the knot!
