This coming week is going to be a week full of giveaways to celebrate all the news going on with Stephanie Michelle and to say thank you to all of you who support and follow my work!
To kick the week off, I thought I’d go ahead and announce something new I’ll be offering…plus it’s one of the items that will be up for grabs in this week’s giveaways!
In the past year or so, I’ve had a lot of new photographers approach me with questions and to see if I’d consider offering a mentoring session. I’ve been hesitant to dive into mentoring so soon into my own business. I’ve been at this for three years now and in the grand scheme of things am still very much new in this industry. So the last thing I’d want to do is call myself a teacher of something I’m still very much figuring out myself!
But the more I get asked about mentoring, the more I have to remind myself that everyone has something to teach and learn….and if others see something in my work that they’d like to learn, I want to share what I can!
So, that’s where the idea of coffee dates has come from! I want to meet with new photographers and help them with their photography, the way I’ve been able to learn along the way too!
Here’s the idea….coffee dates will be like mini mentoring sessions! Coffee dates will be two hours long, a one hour portrait session with a quick headshot session for you, and one hour of chatting!
I definitely believe the best way to learn and the best way for me to teach is hands on! So we’re going to do an actual portrait session, styled with professional hair and makeup, where I’ll walk you through everything I’m doing and why. You’ll be able to ask whatever you’d like! After the portrait session, we’ll spend the rest of the time going over whatever topic you’d most like to focus on! Below are some topics that we could discuss!

Shooting in harsh light
Getting comfortable with posing
Helpful tools for shooting
Getting clients comfortable
Shooting variety
Portfolio review
Branding/marketing planning
Gear basics
Getting started in photography, where to start, getting clients, etc.
Coffee dates will have limited availability and will be $475 for each session! For this week, though, there will be an opportunity to win a coffee date , plus the first three sessions booked will receive $75 off their coffee date!
