So last Fall (yeah I know, my blogging has been slacking!) I was so SO lucky to do a mentoring session with Sharon Elizabeth Photography! At the time, I had just gone through my rebranding and made the switch from Stephanie Judd Photography over to Stephanie Michelle. It was the perfect time to sit down with another photographer whose photos and business I respect and admire! With the rebrand came a lot of changes for my business from client experience to pricing and even my shooting style.
It was so nice to get to sit down with Sharon and get a second opinion on all of these changes I had made. She not only made me feel validated in the direction I’m going, but also gave me so many more ideas on how to go in that direction quicker and with more intention.
In addition to all of that fun business stuff, I’m constantly trying to find ways to progress and improve upon my photography. One thing in particular I’m working towards is creating genuine portraits that capture real emotions and moments. That’s one of the many things I really admire about Sharon’s work…so it was a no-brainer that she was who I wanted to do my next mentoring session with! On the second half of my mentoring session, I had the chance to shoot this gorgeous couple’s portraits with Sharon’s guidance!
First of all…let’s just say, while this was SUPER intimidating…..Sharon’s method of teaching her posing flow was amazing! She showed me step-by-step exactly what she does on her sessions to create her beautiful portraits, then handed it over to me for me to recreate what she had just done. This method helped me SO much in remembering it!
Needless to say, if you’re a photographer reading this, and you’ve been contemplating doing a mentoring session…I would highly suggest considering Sharon Elizabeth Photography! 🙂
