It’s funny how attached we can get to ‘stuff’. Our personal belongings that are really just tools to help us get through life almost become extensions of us….well atleast, that’s how I feel about my stuff. 🙂 I remember when I had to get a new cellphone after having my first one for three years….I was sad getting rid of that thing! (Now it’s just the norm because most of my cellphones are awful after about a year) but back then, I was sad to see it go! Then when my first car, a Volkswagon Golf, overheated and left me stranded in the snow….I watched it get carried away on my uncle’s trailor to get dropped off at the junk yard. That car was old, had the clear coat peeling off, had to be refilled with water everyday before I drove it, a steering wheel that made an awful noise when I turned, and had a glove compartment that popped open anytime I hit a bump…yet it was sad to see that car go! It was like seeing another chapter of my life go. Is that crazy?! Am I the only one who gets this attached to their stuff?
Anyway, I’m trying to make this a quick post, because I have to get back on Auto Trader and start the hunt…again…for another car. Sadly, after being rearended almost two weeks ago, I was informed yesterday that my car was totaled. My Yaris! The first thing I’ve ever bought brand new and paid off all on my own will probably be sitting in a junk yard this time next week. (Side note: Get off your phones and start paying attention to the roads people!!) I’ve had so many memories with that car, and unlike the Golf….there was nothing wrong with it! I’ve taken it on countless road trips, bragged about my awesome gas mileage when people make fun of it’s clown car-like features, made mistakes with it, taken it off-road. You know…lots of awesome things. And now…that chapter of my life is over. So. In memory of my Yaris…he gets an entire blog post. Yep. Most cheesy blog post ever…but I’m alright with it.
Here he is in his prime 🙂 (I really was just playing with my new camera at the time…I don’t normally photograph my vehicles, as much as I love them!) And yes, that’s Bailey, wondering what the heck I’m doing outside and why she’s not out there with me.

And there he was yesterday when I went to pick up all my belongings before they towed it away. They tore it all apart to assess the damage….other than that, you’d never know it was totaled!

…Now on to searching for another vehicle that will live up to the Yaris. 🙂 As fun as a new car sounds…this process has NOT been fun already! Any suggestions?!
