I was so excited when Jordan invited me into her home just weeks after giving birth to her first little girl, Lena. It’s such a vulnerable time for new moms, let alone having someone new coming in to capture it. So, it was a total honor for her to trust me to do this!
Becoming a mom is such a transition…in those early weeks, you’re still getting to know your baby, struggling to find time for yourself, adjusting to this new life (whatever that may be)… It’s a constant rotation of, ‘Are you hungry?’, ‘Do you need a new diaper?’, ‘Let’s see if you want to be rocked…’, ‘I give up.’…..
All that said, it’s the sweetest, most precious time that only lasts an instant.
You literally cannot stare at a newborn long enough.
Knowing how vulnerable these moments are, I was honestly nervous when I first started offering these sessions…but the feedback has honestly made me even more passionate about capturing motherhood.
