Mara + Nate {Bethesda Garden Engagement}

As the day of Mara and Nate’s engagement session approached, there were storms almost every day and a small chance of storms for the night of their session. By the morning of their session, the forecast looked pretty good, so Mara and Nate decided we should go for it!  I headed for Bethesda, and as I about 30 minutes away, I got a text from Mara that I might want to meet at their house, because it was ‘hurricane status right now’. Luckily, by the time I arrived, the hurricane status storm had turned into a slow-er downpour—and rather going into panic mode, Mara and Nate were totally game!

They came prepared with umbrellas, champagne, and a third outfit with plans to ditch the umbrellas and play in the rain together at the end of their session! I love getting to do something different, so I was excited to take advantage of the circumstances and have fun with it! The rain gave them the chance to cuddle up together under the umbrella, making for such a cozy engagement session! Then, unexpectedly, the rain cleared and the most beautiful golden light peaked through the trees. Ironic, because we were so looking forward to playing in the rain, but it was such a beautiful end to their session!
